Based on my experience working in CRM consulting and implementation for more than a decade, We’ve compiled a list of tips for our company to choose the right company as a consulting company for CRM. There are many CRM providers and CRM Consultants in the market but finding the correct CRM consulting companies or consultants is a tough Job.

Before elaborating activities in detail here are some of the challenges to build CRM through inhouse teams which lead companies to find experts to help them from CRM design to onboarding users on CRM with required training.
Challenges to develop Inhouse CRM:

Some company(Non-Tech company) trying to build CRM Inhouse through consultant or inhouse team without checking Prior experience in CRM face Lots of issues like,
  • Lack of proper planning and understanding business process to match CRM
  • CRM project not finished on time
  • Lot of Back and forth in development
  • Expectation of each stakeholder didn’t match

Activity#1 : Define your Goal and business process:

  • Define your Goal on why you need CRM and what you wanted to achieve from CRM.
  • This is a very important tip every CRM customer must have to follow, do not keep ball unturned to you when you define your business process for implementation of CRM.
  • Create Detailed business process which will be understood correctly by CRM consultants. This is a very important aspect when you’re outsourcing.
Activity#2 : Expedit your CRM requirement:

Draft detail “Requirement document” which covers all your Low Level CRM requirement with covers following,
  • Requirement of CRM for Sales/Marketing team
  • Requirement of CRM for Operation team
  • Requirement of CRM for Support team
  • Hierarchy level of each team member (This is very important)
  • Detailed of notification/alerts at various stage

Activity#3 : Stakeholder consultation:

Stakeholder consultation is very important for implementation of robust CRM for your company for long term.
  • As per my experience I found that there is a lot of in-difference between each department of the company on various business processes.
    e.g. Sales and marketing team were not aligned properly so whatever result achieved from marketing wasn’t properly passed on to the sales team in terms of transferring qualified leads from marketing team to sales team.
  • Reduce communication gap between each stakeholder of CRM
Activity#4 : Define consulting company or experts criteria:

  • Find a skilled consulting company in CRM with Proven track records in CRM.
  • Review their social media profile like LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook to get customer’s review.

  • Review their customer’s feedback or testimonials and case studies of previous work
  • Create Detailed business process which will be understood correctly by CRM consultants. This is a very important aspect when you’re outsourcing.
  • Setup Small POC (Proof of concept) for experienced CRM Consultants to make sure about Delivery/Consistency and understanding business requirements.
  • Working with partners who have experience in implementation of complete CRM solutions for almost all major industries verticals.
